Worsening Deforestation in Bolivia – Caused by Government-Backed Agricultural Exploitation of Forests

September 3, 2023 Xamira Zuiderwijk 0

Bolivia rainforestBolivia has one of the largest forest coverage in the world, but persistent agricultural exploitation has advanced the state of the country’s deforestation. According to Global Forest Watch (GFW), unless the government develops sustainable and viable economic alternatives, deforestation in the country will continue to worsen.

Yet the government of Bolivia supports the expansion of agricultural production. An Oxfam report revealed that historically, between 1990 and 2005, farmers had cut down trees in 270,000 hectares of Bolivia’s forests.
Actually, based on a recent GFW study, last year’s government-backed deforestation activities had already increased the cleared portion of the virgin forest by 32 per cent. The size of which already accounts for 9% of all the lost primary forest around the world.

Forest Fires in Connection with Cattle Ranch Clearing

Forest fireIn addition to the agricultural exploitation, forest fires occurring yearly have contributed to the denudation of the virgin forests in the country.

A related GFW study shows that from 2001 to 2021, forest fires had caused 24% of the loss of tree cover in Bolivia. More often than not, the wild fires were connected to the clearing operations carried out to make large areas of the forest available for cattle grazing.

Such conditions further fueled concerns that it could put at risk efforts to save the Amazon.

Ongoing Conservation Efforts

Asociación Faunagua and Armonia joined forces with the Peruvian ECOAN and Global Forest Generation to form a conservationist group called the Acción Andina. Their goal in doing so is to protect and restore forests, specifically those in protected areas and under glaciers.

Making Gardens Eco-Friendly

January 5, 2023 Joel Mould 0

The fact that more and more people are paying attention to treating their environment with respect and in a sustainable manner is a very positive development. Of course, you can implement these values in the garden.

What is an eco-friendly garden?

A garden is therefore environmentally friendly if you design and manage it in an environmentally friendly manner. For you, this means that you only do in the garden what does not negatively affect the environment and leave what is harmful.

How to design and fence your garden in an environmentally friendly manner

Eco-friendly garden – plan and create

Whether you are creating a new garden or remodeling an existing one, being green needs to be planned for.

You have to keep the big picture in mind. Your garden is just a piece of land in the middle of a landscape that has grown according to the laws of nature. Over time, this has developed a very specific natural character, which can be recognized by the associated characteristics.

An environmentally friendly garden is and remains an inseparable part of the natural environment outside the garden fence. Any sustainable intervention in the landscape has consequences. You should therefore not make any major changes, but use composite fencing (https://www.luxuryscreens.co.uk/product-category/composite-fencing-uk/) instead if you want to protect your plants from wild animals. This way, you maintain the landscape and make your garden look spectacular.

Cultivate the garden in an environmentally friendly way

Each building in your eco-friendly garden seals off a part of nature. So plan modestly and only choose the area for the garden shed, tool shed, and greenhouse that is actually necessary.

Garden buildings made from the natural building material wood are in harmony with nature. Wood is a renewable raw material that can be processed naturally and, if necessary, also disposed of naturally.

Therefore, when buying a garden shed and others, be sure to pay attention to the quality of the wood. Only select models from verifiably environmentally friendly wood and forestry sectors.

Environmentally friendly garden houses not only secure the future of people and nature but also bring many advantages.

composite fencing

Celebrate eco-friendly in the garden

Your garden is not just a place to garden. It is also a chill-out zone and offers space for social gatherings with the family, colleagues from the office or sports club, or neighbors.

When celebrating, do not disturb the plant and animal roommates too much. Bright lights, loud music, smoke, and fire are not exactly environmentally friendly.

3 Sustainability Tips for Bedrooms

December 5, 2022 Lilian Mauger 0

Sustainable room

A sustainable bedroom promotes healthy sleep and protects the environment at the same time. Those who furnish their own bedroom consciously and with natural materials sleep healthier, dream better (check out how to do تفسير حلم or interpretation of a dream), and with a clear conscience.

We spend about a third of our lives sleeping. Sleep is important to replenish our energy reserves and start the next day fit. In order to do something good for your own health and the environment, you should invest in a bedroom that is as sustainable as possible. With the following three tips you can make your sleeping environment more sustainable.

1. Sustainable wall and floor design

Wall paints and varnishes are often harmful to the environment and cause a poor indoor climate. It is best to use lime for wall design. This is particularly suitable for allergy sufferers, as walls breathe with lime plaster and clean the air. As a result, they also effectively counteract mold growth. For color accents, the lime is mixed with natural color pigments or painted a wall whitened with lime afterward with tinted lime paint.

PVC should definitely be avoided for flooring. Although the inexpensive floors are easy to maintain and therefore very popular – they often contain chemical additives and plasticizers. A study by Öko-Testin May 2017 rated eight out of twelve floors tested as insufficient due to harmful ingredients.

A good alternative is floors made of wood or cork. Here you should always make sure that the materials have been produced sustainably. An additional advantage of cork floors is: The surface is elastic and cushions when walking. This results in less impact noise. Sustainable floors made of natural materials are suitable for the rest of the apartment in addition to the bedroom.

2. Sustainable sleeping in the right bed

The bed is the heart of the bedroom. Ideally, it accompanies you for several years or even half a lifetime. Therefore, when choosing, attention should be paid to a timeless look and not to the money. In addition, it is helpful to inform yourself in detail and not to decide prematurely.

For a natural and sustainable home, you should avoid tropical woods. Rainforest is cleared for these popular types of wood. Many animals lose their natural habitat as a result and the effects of climate change are also fatal. In addition, the workers in these areas are exploited excessively.

Instead, beds and other furniture should be based on local woods. They do not require long transport routes and usually come from controlled forestry. But sustainability must also be taken into account for domestic wood species: One indicator of this is the seal. The Forest Stewardship Council is committed to sustainable forest management.

3. Sustainable mattresses for healthy sleep

When buying a new mattress, it is important to pay attention to good moisture exchange. For example, a mattress core made of coconut fibers: Regulate moisture particularly well.

Natural latex is the material for the mattress. It is made from the milk of the rubber tree. The tree itself is not felled for this but remains completely preserved.

For healthy sleep, mattresses need to be replaced regularly, as bacteria, fungi, and moisture accumulate over time. Depending on the quality, a change should take place every five to ten years. For this reason alone, you should also pay attention to sustainable materials when buying. Sustainable mattresses also last much longer and are chemical-, allergy-, metal- and irritant-free.

Conclusion: sustainable sleeping

A healthy and sustainable bedroom is quickly taken care of. Walls with lime plaster and floors made of wood or cork are the first step towards a sustainable oasis of well-being. This is rounded off by a bed made of local wood and a mattress made of coconut fiber and natural latex.

Tip: Have you ever tried furniture made of pine wood? This wood gives off a particularly pleasant fragrance and ensures a restful sleep.

New Forest Trend Report Warns of Possible Extinction of the Rare ipê Trees

April 6, 2022 Xamira Zuiderwijk 0

A new report from Forest Trends warns that international demand for ipê wood from trees located in the Amazon Basin is bound to lead tp the species’ extinction. Not unless better regulations on the international trade of the wood are implemented as soon as possible.

As it is, there is a high demand for ipê hardwood in the luxury lumber market, especially for use in the construction of decks, floors, outdoor boardwalks and outdoor furniture. The Forest Trends report urges officials to list the rare species under CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species) which forms part of the international convention for regulating the trade of threatened Wild Fauna and Flora species.

Why Ipê Trees Must be Included in the List of Endangered Species

Ipê trees are rare and is the most popular species brought as hardwood supply in the global luxury wood market. They are not abundant in the forest because Ipê trees take time to grow; needing between 80 – 100 years to grow into maturity. Moreover they prefer to expand and flourish in low density areas, and are not likely to thrive in plantations or by way of other restoration processes.

Miguel Pacheco, the Policy Director at WWF Peru said that an already not-so-abundant species is being internationally overexploited and exported across countries like the US, Canada, Europe. China, South Korea, Japan, India and Israel. The report stated that between the years 2017 and 2021, as many as 525 million kilograms of Ipê wood were exported to these forrign, the bulk of which went to the United States.

Since the Ipê population had severely declined during the past 30 years, a proposal to list ipê in CITES was put forward by the governments of Brazil and Ecuador. However, for some unexplained reason, the petition was withdrawn in 2019. Marigold Norman co-author of the new Forest Trends report said that they believe ipê should already be under the protection of the CITES.

Bolivia’s Forests Suffering from Deliberate Forest Burning and Wildfires Sparked by Climate Change

November 22, 2021 Xamira Zuiderwijk 0

Global Forest Watch reported that in 2020, Bolivia became the country with the third largest loss of virgin forests, surpassing the losses recorded by Indonesia. Brazil still maintained its record of having the worst virgin forest losses, three times more than the Democratic Republic of Congo, the country with the second largest area of virgin forest lost to deforestation.

In as early as 2009, Bolivia’s then Ministry of Environment had expressed concerns that based on their estimates, Bolivia was losing virgin forests at a rapid rate they feared that all their rainforests will be gone by the year 2100. The loss rates have in fact accelerated under former Bolivian president Evo Morales, who was elected into office in 2006 but eventually ousted in 2019.

During Morales’ regime, laws were enacted to expand agricultural production, which included permitting burning parts of the protected Amazon forests. Under the new laws, the practice of burning forests was legal from May to June, Each farmer was allowed to burn 20 hectares, even in reserved areas in the Santa Cruz department. Yet the limit was often intentionally disregarded since fines imposed on violators were negligible.

Forest Burning in Bolivia Amidst the Worsening Effects of Climate Change

As the forest burning activities for purposes of agricultural expansion became rampant in Bolivia, forest fires managed to spark on their own. Fueled by the presence of large amounts of combustible forest materials, and the increasingly hotter and drier conditions, the stage is always set for wildfire occurrences that originate mostly in the cleared forest areas.

Local authorities reported that in Santa Cruz alone, wildfires that started from land-clearing activities had burned 2.6 million hectares of land in the first ten months of the year. Bolivian environmentalist and biologist Juan Carlos Catari said it would take decades to recover from the forest fires, as there are areas that have lost more than half of their flora and fauna.

Environmentalists are saying that it has become a viscous cycle of deliberate forest burning and wildfires caused by global warming temperatures. The Friends of Nature Foundation, a non-government organization in Bolivia, estimated that in 2019 wildfires destroyed more than 6.4 million hectares of Bolivia’s forests and grassland. In 2020, wildfires scorched about 2.3 million hectares.

In San Matias park, a supposedly protected area of 30,000 square kilometers of once lush forest, has become a wasteland of carbonated and twisted tree stumps. San Matias is home to cattle ranchers, farmers and quartz miners who burn the areas annually in preparation for the next planting season. Today, the dirt roads leading to San Matias are cracked and dry, massively lined with thousands of half-burnt trees.

Health Benefits of Listening to Music

November 19, 2021 Agueda J. Quarles 0

Studies show that music can improve mood and prevent depression. It can also improve blood flow, lower stress-related hormones such as cortisol, and relieve pain like statins. Listening to music before surgery can even improve post-surgery results.

How can music do such a good thing? Music appears to “selectively” activate neurochemical systems and brain structures related to positive mood, emotional regulation, attention, and memory. Music creators should consider their listeners, too. Spotistar can help musicians reach their audience.

Meditation and Music

A study found that listening to music could improve mood, well-being, and stress-related interventions in older people with cognitive decline. The benefits of music were compared to the benefits of meditation. This is a fashionable practice for psychological help. These results are great news if the idea of listening to music seems to be much more feasible than meditating or going camping in forests.

The Right Music

Silence can be better than casual listening. In addition to stress, wrong music can promote sadness or other useless mental states. Music can intensify negative emotions such as anger, aggression, and despair in the same way it counteracts these emotions. It explains that the rhythm and other characteristics of the selected song can regulate the heart rate and activity of the brain’s neural network.

What Music Does to Your Mental and Emotional State

What surprises people is that music activates almost every brain area that we have mapped so far. This suggests the universality and power that music influences us. If you’re trying to use music to relieve stress, lift your mood, or change your mental or emotional state.

Consider an area called music therapy to foster a deeper connection between music and your health. It focuses on the use of music to improve patient outcomes. Music therapy begins with the idea that therapists work with people trying to make themselves feel more complete or optimistic in music or discover parts they don’t know.

Music therapy can take many forms. There, trained therapists listen to the music of their choice and help people identify their strengths and challenges. Music can create a sense of harmony in the therapist’s patient. Sharing music helps the therapist feel that the therapist really understands me.

Other forms of music therapy include singing and playing musical instruments. The way each of us makes music can reveal something about us that the therapists can work with. Someone can play drums at one tempo or one dynamic, making it challenging to be flexible in other areas of their lives.

Music is ours. It’s a way to bypass the rational side and get in touch with our emotional life, which often remains hidden. When people have problems, there are usually ways music can help.

Understanding Air Pollution

November 16, 2021 Lachlan Wymark 0

The world is becoming more crowded and as a result, making our climate hotter. Industrial engines keep pumping out unfiltered emissions and half of the world has no access to clean fuels or even technologies. The air we breathe is gradually becoming more polluted and dangerous to someone’s health. Believe it or not, 9 out of 10 people are breathing polluted air, which is responsible for killing 7 million people annually.

Air Pollution and its Impact on People’s Health

1/3 of deaths from lung cancer, heart disease and stroke are triggered by air pollution. This has the equivalent effect to smoking tobacco and a lot higher than the effects of consuming too much salt. Air pollution is inevitable, regardless of your social status and location, you’d be breathing it whether you like it or not.

The microscopic pollutant present in the air could slip past the body’s defense and eventually, penetrate deep in our circulatory and respiratory system. If people would not take action against it, it will soon damage our brain, lungs and heart in the process.

Not because You don’t See it, it’s not there

Simply because you are not seeing smog in the air, doesn’t mean that the air you are breathing is healthy. Throughout the world, both villages and cities see toxic pollutant in the air that is exceeding the annual value being recommended by World Health Organization’s guidelines for air quality.

To assist people in having a better understanding of how polluted the air is on where they live, UN Environment, Climate and Clean Air Coalition Breathe Life campaign and WHO has designed an online pollution meter.

The Types of Air Pollution

There are two different kinds of air pollution and these are ambient air pollution which is the ones outdoor and household or the indoor air pollution. Both outdoor and indoor air pollution is contributing to each other since air is moving outside buildings, to its interior and vice versa. This is a subject that should be taken immediate action whether you are running Minecraft survival servers, managing a restaurant and whatnot, everyone is responsible for ensuring that we are contributing the least air pollution to the planet.

Conservationists Find a Group of Spectacled Bears Secretly Inhabiting an Endangered Forest Area

August 19, 2021 Xamira Zuiderwijk 0

A group of conservationists has discovered a hidden population of spectacled bears thriving in an endangered area located in the highlands of Bolivia’s forest. The forest area is regarded as one of the last inter-Andean dry forests to survive. The conservationists are planning to launch actions that can help the hidden bears connect their small population with other bears.

Bolivia’s spectacled bears are the only bear specie in South America. Despite being the largest carnivore in the area, they consume only minimal amounts of meat, usually comprising only 5% of their regular food intakes. In fact, other native South American animals are heavier than the spectacled bears. Bolivia’s only bear species are known to be descendants of the giant Running Bear, the largest mammal known to have existed on Earth.

Conservationists to Find Out More about the Spectacled Bears of Bolivia

Conservation and research about the endangered spectacled bear or the Tremarctos ornatus is deemed as critical in Bolivia. Mainly because there is little, to no information about these bears since they account as one of the least studied terrestrial carnivores. As it is, there is considerable lack of information in relation to their participation in Andean culture and mythology, and about their role in the forest ecology.

The conservationists’ research was launched on the eastern side of the Apolobamba range located northeast of Lake Titicaca. The latter is a region well known for having the richest accumulation of terrestrial ecosystems in the world. That is presumably the reason why the hidden spectacled bears chose the area as their secret natural habitat,

What Caused the Endangerment of Bolivia’s Spectacled Bears?

Bolivia’s cloud forests have been deteriorating in the past years, due to poverty, ever since the rural folks allowed deforestation to take place in their forest areas.

When the bespectacled bears venture outside of their habitat, people in the rural areas kill the bears; or in some cases use the animals for livestock and in clearing out certain areas by allowing the bears to consume their crops.

Yet the foremost reason why Bolivia’s spectacled bears became endangered are the local traders who purchase the animals for local trading of different bear products; such as bear fat, bones, and bile as ingredients of local medicines. Bear bile is also highly traded internationally because they have been found to contain a rare chemical compound that sells for a price valued at multiple times more than that of heroin.

Bolivia’s Leading Environment Activist Calls Attention to the Country’s Environmental Crises

May 28, 2021 Xamira Zuiderwijk 0

Bolivia’s environmentalists feel their country’s environmental disasters have not drawn media attention due to the greenwashing campaign of its ex-president. Recently, Gina Mendez, a leading environmental activist in Bolivia was interviewed by Rhett A. Butler, founder of Mongabay, in which she spoke of how they are tackling Bolivia’s environmental crisis.

How Bolivia’s Environmental Crisis Worsened Through the Years

During his term as president, Evo Morales. diverted people’s attention away from the industrial agriculture’s destruction of ecosystems, which mostly involved burning of forests. Yet in the past 20 years, Bolivia’s forests have been rapidly disappearing, causing a great loss of primary forest by a size that is ranked as the second largest in South America, next to Brazil.

Despite previous governments’ much publicized announcements of laws aimed at protecting Mother Earth, the increasing incidences of severe wildfires initiated by the country’s agricultural industry have destroyed ecosystems, and caused the rapid shrinking of its diverse forests.

In 2017, a group of Bolivian citizens led by Gina Méndez, founded a non-government organization called “El Llamado del Bosque.” Roughly translated, “llamado” means call, bosque means forest, put together, it means the “Call of the Forest.” The purpose of which is to launch campaigns to save not only Bolivia’s forests but also the wildlife and the forest-dependent communities.

How El Llamado del Bosque has Been Responding to the Call of Bolivia’s Forests

El Llamado del Bosque called its campaign “El Pacto del Bosque” (“Forest Pact”). Initially 100 prominent Bolivian leaders representing different groups in Bolivia signed up to respond to the call.

Today, more than 500 individuals, organizations and institutions are participating in El Llamado del Bosque’s coordinated actions. Their campaigns include not only protests, but also environmental education initiatives, forest restoration drives in areas affected by fires and fund raising drives by way of eco-festivals.

Who is Gina Mendez?

Gina Mendez said she initiated the establishment of El Llamado del Bosque in 2017 after deciding that solving Bolivia’s environmental problem required common efforts. El Llamado del Bosque provides a platform to which citizens can contribute efforts in conserving Bolivia’s forests.

A lawyer by profession, Ms. Méndez has been the country’s Minister of Justice and Human Rights for years. In 2001, she became the first female to be elected as mayor of Sta. Cruz, Bolivia’s largest city, for which she earned the nickname “eco-mayor.” In 2002 she was also elected as member of Bolivia’s national congress and later appointed to serve as Minister of Justice and Human Rights.

Light And Heavy Duty Towing Business – Creating A Safe Work Environment

April 20, 2021 Joel Mould 0

Safety in the workplace should be taken seriously regardless of the kind of business you operate. Whatever the size of your business, whether you have a thousand employees or only ten, it is imperative that you provide a safe environment for all of your workers by creating safety regulations as well as preventive measures to avoid work-related accidents.

Creating A Safe Work Environment In The Towing Industry

In the towing industry, there are dangers and risks that are tied to it as well. Tow truck drivers, whether light duty towing or heavy duty towing, are aware that the road could sometimes be an unsafe place. But there are various ways that you could do to be able to manage these risks which you as well as your drivers face. With workplace safety policies in black and white, you will give emphasis to safety in your towing business and keep your drivers and you yourself away from harm.

Below are a few work safety practices in the towing business which you could apply in your own towing business:

Selection of Tow Truck Drivers

It is important that you hire a qualified professional tow truck driver who are trained operate a light duty tow truck or a heavy duty tow truck. To do this, you have to create a well-defined qualification program for drivers which must also contain the job description. To make certain they can do the job well and safely, you also need to establish a minimum requirement in terms of physical attributes, such as hearing, vision, health history as well as substance abuse. Furthermore, the requirements should also meet standards specified by the State or Federal level.

Skills And Competency Test And Training

As tow truck drivers will be on the road, make it clear to the applicant during the interview that you will be conducting a road test as well as skills evaluation. This includes a test to check the knowledge and skills of the applicant in operating the tow truck and other equipment involved. While an applicant has a work history, do not assume that the applicant is skilled. Always administer these tests for you to assess their skills yourself.

Proper Tow Trucks And Equipment

When it comes to equipment, make certain you have the proper trucks and mechanism to handle the job safely and efficiently. Always follow the manufacturer’s recommendations. For instance, it is important that you don’t exceed the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) determined by the manufacturer. Additionally, make certain you have a comprehensive maintenance program for all your tow trucks and tow equipment.

Proper Protective Gears

For your driver’s safety, provide them with the proper protective equipment, which includes high quality visibility vests. Apart from reflective vests, also provide the proper helmet and gloves with reflective attributes similar to visibility vests. Make certain that the proper protective gears you provide your employees meet the standards established by the authorities.

Bolivian Jaguar’s New Enemies to be Exposed by ELI and IUCN Anti-Trafficking Investigators

March 11, 2021 Xamira Zuiderwijk 0

Lesser-known links to Bolivia’s jaguar trafficking chain are about to be exposed by anti-trafficking investigators of the Earth League International (ELI), In collaboration with the Dutch national committee on International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). undercover Chinese investigators of ELI, were able to discover significant information on how and where members of the Chinese triad operate, the routes being taken in trafficking jaguar parts harvested in Bolivia. ELI’s CEO Andrea Crosta stated that jaguar trafficking is not only a conservation problem but also part of an organized crime.

The growing Chinese market for jaguar parts and the existence of Chinese mafia in Bolivia has encouraged the trafficking of such products. However, officials and natural parks administrators already know about the trafficking activities concerning jaguar parts in their areas, as it has been going on since 2014.

Whereas before, Bolivian jaguars were hunted for their fur because of their high value in international markets. However, since the international ban on animal fur use, Bolivia’s jaguars are facing a new problem as they are now being hunted by Bolivian hunters working for a network of Chinese traffickers looking to buy jaguar claws, fangs, and testicles.

In China, the value of jaguar testicles are considered to be the same price as pure gold as it is widely believed that it can cure diseases, as well as enhance a man’s sexual well-being. Jaguar fangs, on the other hand, have greater value when created as a pendant, usually worn by rich Asians as symbol of power and high status.

Bolivian Hunters Claim They are Now Aware of Bolivian Laws Prohibiting Jaguar Hunting

In Bolivia, a hunter can get as much as $215 per fang from Bolivia-based Chinese procurers. Actually, most hunters are surprised that something they consider as useless in Bolivia can be valuable to Chinese citizens. However, Bolivian hunters say they are not aware that there are laws in Bolivia that prohibit the killing of wild animals and that have been listed by the IUCN’s Red Book of vulnerable animals in Bolivia. They are unaware that the punishment for breaking such laws is up to six years of imprisonment.

Moreover, not all Bolivian hunters are not aware that it is illegal to hunt jaguars in the forests of the Chaqueña Region, northern Bolivian Amazon, and Bolivian lowlands, where the jaguar population is already threatened as a result of illegal hunting.

Mastering the Road to Eco-Friendly Driving: Top Tips for a Greener Drive

February 12, 2021 Agueda J. Quarles 0

By modifying several of your driving habits, you can improve your fuel efficiency and use less gasoline, bringing down the cost. Just how far can you save? Together with the easy green driving hints, we have compiled here, you can raise your fuel market and economies to 47 percent. If you would like to reduce your fuel use even more, you may want to make some lifestyle changes.

Better Fuel Economy means less Pollution

It is better for the environment. Better fuel economy means less pollution emitted by automobiles and less dependence on foreign sources of petroleum. That is why these driving hints are green for the entire world and green on your pocket.

Your automobile burns off the gas for energy. It is food to the motor, and that is what makes the car run. The longer work the automobile must perform, the more energy it requires. It is kind of like the way the marathoner should consume far more than a couch potato. This principle is clear to most people. It is why big SUVs have worse gas mileage than small cars. The additional burden of the SUV makes the automobile work harder. If the car gets stuck in the middle of the road, you will need towing services from https://www.sanjosetowservice.com/.

In the unfortunate event of a car breakdown, towing services can prove to be a lifesaver. When stranded on the roadside, these services come to the rescue by offering a range of essential assistance.  Connect with a trusted towing service in this location. Towing experts can swiftly respond to your distress call and offer services such as roadside assistance, jump-starting a dead battery, providing fuel delivery, or even winching your vehicle out of difficult terrain.

Regardless of what type of vehicle you drive, eliminating weight may go a long way toward boosting your vehicle’s fuel efficiency. Before you choose a chainsaw for your bumper, there are likely fewer extreme actions that you may take. Have a ski or bike rack in your vehicle? Unless you are on your way to a ski excursion or bicycle ride, then shoot it off. That fresh rack adds weight and wind resistance. And if you are like most people, you likely have some junk in your back. Wash it out.

Efficiently and Properly Inflated Tires

The burden your car is carrying is not the only thing that may impact your fuel economy. Your tires can, too. Proper tire maintenance is an often-overlooked way to maximize your fuel economy. The simplest way to utilize your tires to save money is to ensure they are properly inflated. Tires that are underinflated negatively impact fuel efficiency. Imagine attempting to roll up a bean tote up a mountain. It might take lots of energy since it droops around everything. By comparison, it is simple to roll up a well-inflated ball up a mountain. Like a chunk, correctly inflated tires have less contact with the street, so that they experience less friction, so the engine does not need to work as difficult to maneuver the vehicle.

Limit Your Need for Speed

Among the greatest ways to boost your fuel economy would be to alter how you drive. Speeding, accelerating, and braking hard can increase efficiency. Why? After you stop, accelerate, or start, your car must conquer inertia. Inertia is the resistance that an object has to a change in its state of motion. To be able to get going, or to discontinue, a vehicle must overcome inertia. You have likely heard that things in motion tend to remain in motion, and items that are ceased are inclined to remain stopped. That is due to inertia.

Overcoming inertia demands energy. When you are talking automobiles and energy, then you are speaking gasoline. It is possible to use less energy to overcome inertia should you do it gradually. What will make you tired: pulling a heavy wagon slowly out of a stop into an all-purpose jog, or yanking the same wagon instantly to a sprint? Pulling the wagon slowly enables you to build momentum to help overcome inertia, using less energy. On your vehicle, you should accelerate slowly out of stops, permitting the car’s momentum to allow it to accelerate.

When the vehicle is in motion, you need to try and conserve that momentum by preventing situations where it could be dropped. Say you are driving down the street and see a light up ahead turn from yellow to crimson. As opposed to keeping your foot on the gas and brake at the last minute, you should take your foot off the gas and gradually approach the lighting. Not only will coasting save petrol, but you may not even need to come to a complete stop until the light turns green, meaning that your car might need to conquer not as much inertia for going. The rate at which you push on the street, where quitting and beginning are not very likely to be an issue, also affects your fuel efficiency.

Time to Trade-in to Get a More Efficient Automobile

If you are intent on driving greener, you can find a more fuel-efficient automobile. Like switching out of a huge SUV such as the Chevrolet Tahoe, which has an EPA-estimated combined petrol mileage of 16 mpg, to some little car such as the Honda Fit, which has an EPA-estimated joint gas mileage of 30 mpg.

You might even go considerably greener and think about obtaining a gas-electric hybrid. The Toyota Prius comes with EPA-estimated joint gas mileage of 46 mpg. This means switching from the Tahoe into the Prius can help save you almost six gallons of gasoline each week. The Prius’ gas mileage is high because its gas motor can be closed off at low rates or stop and move visitors. In these scenarios, the vehicle is powered by an electrical engine, meaning no gasoline is utilized and no contaminants are emitted.

Try Car Pooling

If you truly wish to cut back on your gas use, carpooling is a fantastic way to do it. After two individuals buddy up and ride the number of automobiles on the street drops and gasoline is stored. It is that easy.

A variety of towns and cities have auto pooling resources. Some heavily infested regions utilize High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes to promote carpooling. HOV lanes are lanes set aside for automobiles that take a specific number of individuals. Get in the street with fewer individuals in your vehicle, and you are going to find a ticket. Because most men and women drive independently, HOV lanes have fewer automobiles and fewer visitors. Carpoolers advantage by saving time, while the towns they are in advantage with fewer cars on the street and less pollution.

Ridesharing is just another carpooling resource most places have. Ridesharing is an official application that matches curious carpoolers together. That may be big assistance, as you might not live close to anyone you use. Ridesharing apps also occasionally provide central places for picking up and dropping off carpoolers, so time is not spent driving to each of the participants’ homes. Some applications also give aid if auto pooling programs fall through. By way of instance, if the individual who you rode to work with gets ill and leaves early, a journey sharing program will be certain that to get home.

Carpooling is not only a fantastic way to push green and split a lonely ride; it is a fantastic way to save a great deal of cash. By switching driving times with a different driver, you are going to cut your gas prices by half. And by not forcing your car as much, you will save on regular maintenance. Driving just half as much will even slow the speed you put miles on your vehicle, assisting its resale value.

Car Sharing is Caring

Automobile sharing is yet one other means to drive green that is gaining in popularity, particularly in urban regions. Individuals who might not drive each day but still need a vehicle to run errands or push on weekends benefit most from auto-sharing. Car sharing is generally conducted by a service such as Zipcar, even though there are casual car-sharing solutions. Participants pay a monthly fee and have access to a whole fleet of cars whenever they want you. The cars have been parked in designated areas around town, so members just must create a reservation, then go to the designated pickup place.

Car sharing has important environmental benefits since it reduces the number of automobiles on the street. Members do not drive just as they have a vehicle. They plan excursions, and whether they do not require a vehicle, they do not use one.  If you still should get round but wish to go much greener than simply sharing a vehicle, talk about a bus. On another page, you are going to find out about the green advantages of mass transit.

Another One Ride on the Bus

Whether you have a vehicle, make use of a car-sharing service, or do not drive in any way, mass transit is a fantastic way to get around while remaining green. If two individuals’ carpooling eliminates one automobile from the street, the advantages are even larger when people ride a bus and remove each of their cars on the roads. The benefits add up when you think about the countless individuals on a single train. Not merely does mass transit alleviate congestion, but it reduces contamination. Additionally, it promotes green growth by promoting higher population density across subway stations and major bus lines.

Amazon’s Ecological Engineers: White-Lipped Peccaries

December 15, 2020 Xamira Zuiderwijk 0

Not many are aware that there are animals called white-lipped peccaries roaming in herds across the Amazon forests lying between South and Central America. The animals look like pigs but they play an important role in promoting ecological life in the Amazon. .

White-lipped peccaries, which go by the scientific name,Tayassu pecari are pig-like animals easily recognizable for the peculiar uniform white patch marking their snouts. They are categorized as peccaries because they belong to the Tayassuidae family, hich has the distinction of having three toes on their hind foot instead of four, like the pigs of the family Suidae. Still, the white lipped peccaries are called the “pigs of the jungle”.

It is not unusual to see a large herd of white-lipped peccaries numbering from as few as 20 to as many as 300 roaming the Amazon forests in search of food. According to unconfirmed reports, as many 2,000 white-lipped peccaries have been spotted traveling more than 10 kilometres just to search for food. Presumably, several herds must have combined as different groups traveled across the Amazon forests.

White-Lipped Peccaries Are Facing High Risks of Extinction

Unfortunately, their very abundance made them the right target for natives who also hunt for food..In studies conducted by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN ), their findings caused them to include the white-lippied peccaries in the IUCN red list of threatened species. The hunting records of 5 communities in the Tacana Indigenous areas show that this breed of peccaries provided the largest portions of meat when compared to other hunted species.

Additionally, the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) revealed the same findings based on the yearly surveys from 2000 to 2006 of the Tuichi, Quendeque, Hondo, Undumo, Heath, Tequeje, and Alto Madidi settlement areas. However, the threatened existence of white-lipped peccaries is aggravated by the deforestation programs and wildfires that have been taking place for years in the Amazon.

In light of their significant role as ecological engineers, it is important that measures must be taken to prevent overexploitation while in the midst of environmental threats posed by climate change.

The Ecological Engineers of the Amazon

Ecological engineers are animals or organisms that are significant to the ecology as they either create, maintain, or destroy habitats. White-lipped peccaries are standard examples of ecological engineers as they generate new habitats for species to live by creating and maintaining wallows. As they travel across huge areas, they trample on plants and disperse the seeds across all places through which they travel. Their trampling actions also break the soil’s crust and at the same time, fertilizes the soil through mulching.

Cotton for eco-friendly fashion

October 5, 2020 Mary Emory 0

Cotton is the most popular cloth which may be used for many different kinds of clothes, but classic farming for traditional cotton necessitates lots substances and is tough on the environment.

As general awareness of our ecological problems being raised, organic cotton gets sustainable fabric that’s popular for clothes and is increased without poisons, artificial fertilizers or some other harsh chemical ingredients that could cause skin allergies or rashes. Organic cotton creates a large difference to the environment and our health, because half of clothes on earth is created from organic or traditional cotton. These days, organic garments with a vast choice of styles and forms is available in a number of shops and internet companies across the world.

Purchasing organic clothes makes our lifestyle greener and more healthy.

The majority of clothes is made of traditional cotton and dyed with various colours which contain toxins. For some time now, some brands with the best running shorts for women have been trying to make use of more eco-friendly material for their apparel. A lot of men and women feel that organic cotton, with no chemicals, is simpler on human skin compared to traditional cotton. Organic clothing is currently available on the market with non-toxic paints.

Advanced agricultural techniques can help maintain the property. Rather than using artificial fertilizers, organic cotton employs regular crop rotation procedures and cover harvest strategies to maintain the soil healthy and successful. As a result, we’ll get 100% natural organic cotton with no harmful substances.

As it pertains trend, an increasing number of mainstream manufacturers and luxury designers are mindful of ecological issues and begin organic clothes lines. You may get a huge array of organic clothing choices from infant to mature in department stores, specialty shops, natural shops or farmers markets. On top of that, the price of organic substance is roughly 20% – 40% lower compared to dyed cotton.

Bolivia’s Bishops Urging People to Focus on Environmental Issues

September 22, 2020 Xamira Zuiderwijk 0

In anticipation of the snap general election rescheduled on October 16, 2020, Bolivia’s bishops urge voters to focus on environmental concerns as a key issue.

The bishops representing Bolivia’s Pan-Amazonian Church Network or REPAM Chapter, issued a statement last August 25, addressed to government authorities and to voters as well. The message wants government officials to reform policies that allowed the number of forest fires in the country to greatly increase under the administration of leaders like Evo Morales.

The bishops’ message also called on Bolivians to carefully examine politicians who are in the running as the next president of Bolivia. REPAM president., Bishop Eugenio Coter said it is important for people to understand that elections cannot be about handouts and promises; but about the programs offered by candidates, particularly concerning the environment, rural development and agro-economics particularly in relation to the Amazon.

Bishop Coter, specifically called on Catholics to stay coherent with church teachings when they vote in the coming October 2020 snap elections.

Brief Background Surrounding the Forthcoming October Snap-Election

The snap election seeks to formally elect a new president to replace ousted leader Evo Morales. Although Morales was declared the winner in last year’s October presidential election, the former president had to flee the country to escape the wrath of Bolivian citizens. Morales took flight because the military and local enforcement forces later joined the protests against Morales, after the Organization of American States (OAS, released an audit report about the alleged irregularities that transpired in the 2019 election supposedly won by Morales.

Amphibian Rescue Team Found Rare Glass Frog Species in Bolivia

June 14, 2020 Xamira Zuiderwijk 0

Conservationists on a mission to save reptiles and amphibians in Bolivia, found rare glass frog species that have not been spotted during the past 18 years.

https://youtu.be/FOEFNbi-dvk

Although the micro-scale hydroelectric project in rural Kami in Bolivia, has been helpful in providing clean and renewable electricity to the Bolivian national grid, most frog and reptile species are sensitive to changes that occur in their natural habitats. That is why the team of conservationists were overjoyed in sighting three Bolivian Cochran glass frogs in Carrasco National Park and had commented :

“The rediscovery of this species, one of the most charismatic amphibians in the world, fills us with a ray of hope not only for the future of glass frogs, but for other species as well.”

The 3 glass frogs sighted belong to the Nymphargus bejaranoi genus, and are endemic to the eastern slopes of La Paz, Santa Cruz, Cochabamba and Chuquisaca in the Bolivian Andes. They have been taken to the K’ayra Center, an amphibian conservation centre of the Alcide d’Orbigny Museum, in Cochabamba. There, scientists will try to encourage them to breed by providing them with parental care. while simulating temperatures of wet and dry seasons in their conservation habitat.

Glass Frogs are Highly Sensitive to Environmental Changes

Although glass frog species have been assessed as stable in the IUCN Red List, last global assessment was conducted in 2004, since the species were spotted in 2002. Conservationists fear that in the events that have transpired during the years

thereafter, a third of the global frog population could be under threat of decreasing.
Glass frog species in particular are highly sensitive to changes that affect their habitats.

Inasmuch as their skin is semi-permeable, especially on their stomach, they tend to easily absorb any toxins present in the environment. Since their habitats exist on undisturbed ground areas and in higher levels provided by trees, the continued presence of glass frogs in arboreal areas are regarded as good indicators of the potential health and biodiversity of a wildlife area.

Microplastics on Land, in Air

March 3, 2020 Xamira Zuiderwijk 0

A new study on microplastics revealed that microscopic plastic debris pollutes not just the ocean but also land and the air we breathe.

In a study conducted at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS), researchers found evidence that microplastics have a substantial footprint in the Earth’s environment. Led by Robert C. Hale, professor of Marine Science in the VIMS Dept. of Environmental and Aquatic Animal Health, they discovered that the microscopic synthetic particles forming part of ordinary consumer products like facial scrubs, detergent pods, tennis balls, wet wipes, glitters, synthetic clothing and cigarette butts, just to name a few, are dispersed across land and atmospheric surfaces as well.

The minute synthetic fragments are produced and distributed whenever larger pieces of plastic debris are broken down by biological, chemical and physical forces. Scientists have long raised concerns about the impact of microplastics in marine ecosystems. Yet the new study “A Global Perspective on Microplastics” published by the VIMS researchers in Oceans 2020 of the Journal of Geophysical Research, explained why microscopic materials create problems not only in oceans.

Microplastic Characteristics

In stressing their point, the researchers gave emphasis to the fact that not all plastics are the same. That being the case, characteristics of microplastics that break down are inclined to change during, and after consumers’ use of plastic products. Senior Research Scientist Dr. Mark LaGuardia remarked that

“Once microplastics enter the environment and interact with the weather, their complexity becomes even more convoluted.” — “making it necessary for us to have a better understanding about such complexities, especially when they occur in transition zones like estuaries.”

Plastics, as the researchers have discovered, vary not only in texture, size and shape but also in chemical compositions. Adding to the complexity are the additives infused, such as UV inhibitors and flame retardants, which on their own, create health and environmental impacts.

Professor Hale recommends that in order to attain better understanding of the complex characteristics of microplastics, scientists, engineers, manufacturers, as well as as economists, policymakers and healthcare specialists must collaborate in comprehending the nature, composition and processes of plastics and their additives. That way, key questions can be resolved, particularly on how to mitigate the potential impacts of microplastics as they occur in land, water and air.

Need for Better Tools in Studying the Effects of Microplastics

In recommending further studies of how microplastics impact all areas of the environment, Professor Hale said better tools for analysis are needed. There are nanoplastics, particles even smaller than microplastics; with sizes ranging from 1 nanometer to 1,000 nanometers or a micron. Currently, most of the available technology for analysis cannot go down below 10 microns. That is notwithstanding the presumption that the more minute particles, the greater their potential to be more toxic.

In line with their goal, the VIMS researchers will embark on a study to investigate interactions between infectious diseases in fish and particles smaller than 10 microns. The NOAA Marine Debris program has provided the funding needed in undertaking the research.

Amazon Wildfires Receded as Rainforest Gets Doused by Heavy Rains

November 9, 2019 Xamira Zuiderwijk 0

The Amazon wildfires that hit Brazil and Bolivia have receded following the heavy rains that poured down last month. The downpour had helped members of Bolivia’s military put out the fires that blazed for more than two months, which razed about four (4) million hectares of Amazon lands.

Cinthia Asin, official spokesperson for the Sta. Cruz provincial government, regarding environmental issues, said that satellite images show that no more fires have been detected, indicating that none of the forest fires have reactivated. Santa Cruz, a farming province located in eastern Bolivia, is said to be the hardest-hit by the raging fires.

Bolivia’s national weather services also reported that in the Chiquitania region of Bolivia’s Amazon forest, fires have already been quenched as none have been registered as of late. Still, the weather agency warns that the risk of fires recurring is still present, since the return of the searing heat of the sun, combined with high temperatures could set off another wildfire.

That is why Bolivia’s Armed Forces Commander Williams Kaliman, said there are still no immediate orders to withdraw 5,000 troops who were sent to put out the worst fire ever recorded in Bolivia over the past two decades. Critics and opponents of Bolivia’s President Evo Morales blame the government’s current policy of increasing agricultural sites by way of deforestation.

The Amazon wildfires in Bolivia have receded, but the Bolivian people’s anger at President Evo still rages, now that he won a 4th term as president of Bolivia following a controversial election. .

Bolivians Protest Results of Recent Bolivia Election as President Evo Gets Re-Elected

Although, Evo Morales made a milestone in Bolivian history to be the first Bolivia president with indigenous roots, many of the country’s indigenous tribes have marched to the provincial capital to demonstrate their disapproval of the government’s slow action in responding to the forest fires. More than 1,000 men and women volunteer firefighters came out to help prevent the fire from spreading

Yet Evo Morales’ government reported that it has spent more than $20 million in efforts to put out the fires, which all the more made the people march to the streets. Recent news show that even the local police in some towns have joined the citizens in calling for Evo Morales’s removal from office.

Knowing First Step to Saving the Environment

October 19, 2019 Lilian Mauger 0

Energy efficiency means you are using less energy to do the same jobs, reducing your home’s energy waste and saving money.

To effectively increase your energy efficiency involves more than just using less energy. It requires you becoming aware of how energy is used, where it’s wasted, and how it can be used more effectively and efficiently in everyday life. How to save electricity or energy is one of the most mentioned problems around the household. There are countless ways on how to save energy, you only have to be determined about it. When I say determined, do it right away.

So how do we save energy? Let this be the first step for us to save the environment and we will know about that through this blog.

Why is Saving Energy Important

Using energy has been a part of our daily lives for over the years, and will be for the next decade to come. With that, it is evident that we waste a lot of energy in our daily usage either by not turning the lights off when not in use or by utilizing old and inefficient appliances that consume a large amount of energy.

As of today, most of the energy is generated from coal-powered power plants. These plants do generate energy but also contaminate the environment by emitting harmful gases in the atmosphere. Supplies that are available to us today should be used economically to conserve them for future use since they are limited and will expire one day. The availability of energy isn’t the only problem we’d face. Global warming and the greenhouse effect might be a problem as well.

Indeed, the energy we consume emanates from fossil fuels which involve the emission of vast amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere which may cause the problem.

Final Thoughts on How to Save Energy

Countless ways can be performed nowadays on how to conserve electricity. It only depends on which strategy you are in favor of. Also, there are a number of reasons why you should consider cutting back on energy consumption. First of all, reducing energy use limits the number of carbon emissions in the environment.

Carbon emissions play a significant role in climate change, which is thought to be the cause of powerful natural disasters in recent years. Conserving energy benefits not only the cost of the money you spend on your electric bill but also it helps to preserve the nature from the harmful effects of today’s technology.

Follow my tips for a better world.

Also, have you heard of the hoverboards? This kinds of a new way of transportation is a good way to help save energy too!

Bolivia President’s “New Gold” Still Turning Amazon Forest into Ashes

September 9, 2019 Xamira Zuiderwijk 0

As fire rages on in Bolivia’s section of the Amazon Forest, many are looking closely into Bolivia’s new trade agreements with China, particularly in the supply of agricultural products. After all, China’s decision to stop buying agricultural products from U.S. farmers, resulted to the Asian country’s increased demand to the farmers of Bolivia.

About a decade ago, President Evo Morales did not have the support of farmers. Yet everything changed when he made good on his promise to increase Bolivia’s agricultural space; promising as much as 13 million hectares by 2025. It was obvious that the only way this is possible is by clearing out large sections of Bolivia’s part of the Amazon Forest for agricultural use.

Eventually, President Evo’s government became a staunch supporter of ranching and farming businesses, turning agricultural commodities into the “new gold” that will replace natural gas, as Bolivia’s key export product.

Starting with several government pardons on those charged with illegal deforestation, the pardons served as a sign of encouragement for farmers to push further into the deeper recesses of the Amazon. In fact only this year, the Bolivian president authorized the clearings in the Amazonian section that is still raging with fire.

Now as if not having had a hand in the widespread destruction of the forest, Morales tweeted concerns for “Mother Earth;” of how people cannot survive without her. This was Morales’s original political stance before his government started focusing on agriculture as the new solution for Bolivia’s economic prosperity.

Still No Signs of Remorse coming from Leaders of Agricultural Businesses

Morales’ latest tweet has made agricultural business leaders edgy, presumably fearing that the support that President Morales had given them previously will be taken away in light of local and international pressures. The agricultural business is urging the Bolivian leader not to give in, to demands of imposing a clamp down on their industry, despite the results of the wildfires created by their clearing operations.

Oscar Pereyra, president of Bolivia’s prominent cattle-growing association, defends the laws introduced by the Morales’ administration as well thought out, and that they should not be repealed. Pereyra went as far as saying

“We cannot kill the goose that lays the golden eggs for the agricultural industry”

Perhaps, they are hoping against hope that President Morales is merely saying what the G7 leaders led by French President Macron wanted to hear, as a concession to the $22 million financial aid raised in the G7 summit to help Bolivia put out the raging forest fires.

Bolivia’s Hopes for Meat Boom via China Trade, Raise Deforestation Concerns

July 10, 2019 Xamira Zuiderwijk 0

Recently, Bolivia’s livestock farmers received news that the country will soon be exporting cattle meat to China. However, the news also raised environmental concerns that the new market will worsen the current state of deforestation in Bolivia, unless livestock farmers migrate to more sustainable methods of production.

In 2014, the Friends of Nature Foundation (FAN) published a report stating that the previous perception of agricultural expansion, particularly for soybean as being the main cause of deforestation, had changed. According to FAN Director, Natalia Calderón, from the years 2000 to 2013, their analyses showed that more than 60% of Bolivia’s deforestation was caused by livestock.

Ms. Calderon, who is an expert on conservation and climate change said that currently they are wary of the planned expansion of agricultural spaces intended for cattle raising, as they have recently detected a broadening of deforested areas as such those in the Charagua and Chiquitania regions in Santa Cruz. That is without considering that talks about incentives for cattle production, adequate monitoring and control, as well as technical assistance and technology, have yet to take place.

Bolivian Cattle Ranchers’ Projections to Meet the Forthcoming Meat Boom

Actually, in April 26, of this year, Bolivian Foreign Minister Diego Pary, and the Chinese Minister of Customs, Ni Yuefeng, had already agreed in writing to a protocol of opening China’s doors to Bolivia for its beef exports. Beef consumption among the 1.4 billion Chinese people has risen sharply, from which Bolivian cattle ranchers are hoping to gain huge benefits.

Gary Rodríguez, President of the Instituto Boliviano de Comercio Exterior (IBCE) expressed support for the beef exporters. He projects that the forthcoming beef trade with China will more than double, since they expect that in as short as half a year, cattle ranchers will be selling the equivalent of what they have been selling in the past 10 years. Rodriguez estimates that

“By the year 2020, we would be selling US$150 million to the world only for the export of cattle meat. However, the projection is to move from a cattle herd of 10 million to 17 million within a span of 10 years.”

In connection with this projection, cattle ranchers presented their goals to President Evo Morales in January, via the Livestock Development Plan 2020-2030, which includes planned expansions from the current 13 million hectares for livestock to 20 million hectares.

Bolivia’s cattle ranchers aim to export 20,000 tons of beef to China in the second half of this year. The projection will make roughly about US$75 million, or five times more than the entire amount generated in 2018, based on the figures furnished by the Bolivian Foreign Trade Institute (IBCE). Come 2020, the goal is to increase to 40,000 tons.

Benian Meat, the “Bolivia Natural Beef” Seen as a Model for Sustainable Beef Production

In Beni, farmers contend that their livestock industry is not a main cause of the country’s deforestation. Beni has extensive plains covered by pampas and savannas for cattle pasture enhanced by humid tropical forests located on gentle piedmont slopes.

Compared to Santa Cruz or Brazil, the clearing in Beni is only for cattle paddocks and are located in high places. Cattle ranchers in Beni assert that they take care of the environment, as they still follow the same system used by their grandparents, which is that of making a cattle ranch in the pampas.

Director Calderon of FAN upholds the sustainable method, confirming that in Beni, there is livestock but raised in natural pastures, which gives doubts to implications of deforestation. Still, she says that they would have to take precautions in everything that concerns management of soil and water.

Bolivia’s Lake Titicaca Reveals Exceptional Ancient Tiwanaku Ceremonial Site

May 23, 2019 Xamira Zuiderwijk 0

Amateur divers exploring the Island of the Sun in Lake Titicaca came across several ancient artifacts in a reef submerged 5 meters deep. The discoveries led to an official exploration of the Khoa reef by a team of marine archaeologists. After piecing together artefacts of exceptional value, they unraveled an amazing ceremonial site, which archaeologists associated to the Tiwanaku state, one of the most influential Andean civilizations to have existed in Bolivia.

Underwater Conditions Preserved Proofs of the Opulence of the Ancient Tiwanaku State

Marine researchers collected a treasure trove of ceremonial items that bear witness to the opulence of the Tiwanaku state. Figurines of animals, mostly of pumas, were shaped and carved out of lapis lazuli and other stones. Ceramic incense burners and an L-shaped gold piece of ceremonial item were likewise adorned with puma silhouettes.

Research divers also found gold ornaments, including perforated gold leaves attached to fragments of leather, similar to the ear tassels used as adornments on young llamas offered as sacrifices in the most lavish of ancient ceremonies. Along with the valuable artefacts, researchers also collected well-preserved remnants of llama bones. When carbon dated, the remnants disclosed that the lavish ceremonies took place between the 8th and 10th centuries AD.

Christophe Delaere of the University of Oxford, one of the marine archaeologists involved in the underwater exploration, enthused about the significance of the Lake Titicaca discovery in its undisturbed context. He said it exemplified the advantages of underwater heritage, serving as a demonstration of how Lake Titicaca protects ancient cultural materials from the ravages of time and man.

Delaere summed the significance of the underwater artefacts by saying

“Never before have so many artefacts of this quality been discovered. The history that they tell us is exceptional.”

Lake Titicaca Discoveries Provided Explanations on How the Titicaca State Expanded Rapidly

Charles Stanish, anthropologist at the University of South Florida, and member of the exploration team said the undisturbed ceremonial materials provided explanations on how the Tiwanaku state expanded so effectively during the first millennium. Stanish, explained that pilgrimages leading to the Titicaca basin, took part in elaborate ceremonies regarded as critical aspects of the state structure.

As a way of promoting cooperation and preventing rebellion and freeloading among pilgrims, rituals took place, not only for worship but also in bringing out “supernatural punishers (pumas?).” Stannish remarked that

“Ritual and religion structured people’s lives, the economy and the whole of society. This was how these people were able to to get along in spectacular ways and establish a very successful society.”

The Value of Environmental Protection

April 19, 2023 Lachlan Wymark 0

Attorney lead generation strategies should take into account the impact of their activities on the environment. One effective approach is to adopt eco-friendly practices in their operations, such as reducing paper waste and using renewable energy sources. Another strategy could be to partner with environmental organizations and offer pro bono legal services to support their mission.

By aligning their business practices with environmental sustainability, attorneys can not only attract environmentally conscious clients but also demonstrate their commitment to social responsibility.

Ultimately, it’s crucial for attorneys to consider the long-term implications of their lead generation strategies on the environment and take steps to minimize any negative impact.

Issues Related to the Environment

Climate change is a major environmental issue. Greenhouse gases including carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide heat the planet. This phenomenon’s meteorological effects—harsh weather, rising sea levels, and melting ice caps—threaten many plant and animal species.

Another environmental problem is deforestation, the cutting down of trees and forests for commercial or agricultural use. Deforestation worsens global warming, soil erosion, and extinction of species.

The Essence of Environmental Protection

For our own and future generations’ sake, protecting the environment is essential. By keeping the environment in good shape, we can make sure that resources like fresh air and water are always accessible, as well as keep the ecological system in check. Furthermore, a healthy environment promotes health of the mind and body, raises the standard of living, and boosts economic growth.

Environmental Protection Measures

There are a number of things we can do to help the planet. Use of renewable energy sources to lessen our carbon footprint, conservation of water through less waste, recycling and trash minimization, and reforestation through increased tree planting are all good examples.

Governments can do their part to protect the environment by enacting sustainable development laws and regulations. Companies can be incentivized to minimize their carbon footprint, polluting businesses can be taxed, and wildlife sanctuaries can be established.

Environmental protection is essential to our species’ continued existence and the planet’s continued health. It is imperative that we take measures to preserve our ecosystem so that it can support future generations. We can all do our part to make the world a better place by adopting a few simple lifestyle adjustments and rallying behind sustainability-focused efforts. It is really time that we all started taking environmental protection seriously.

How Outsourcing Can Save Your Business Money and the Environment

February 22, 2023 Yi Min 0

Outsourcing has become an increasingly popular option for businesses of all sizes. By hiring external companies or virtual assistants, businesses can save on costs and improve their overall efficiency. But did you know that outsourcing can also have a positive impact on the environment? In this article, we will explore how outsourcing can help your business save money and reduce its environmental footprint.

Cost Savings: How Outsourcing Can Help Your Business Cut Costs

One of the primary benefits of outsourcing is cost savings. By outsourcing tasks such as administrative work, customer service, or marketing, businesses can save on salaries, benefits, and other costs associated with hiring full-time employees. Additionally, outsourcing allows businesses to access expertise and technology that they may not be able to afford in-house.

Outsourcing can also help businesses save on overhead costs. For example, by hiring virtual assistants, businesses no longer need to maintain a physical office space. This means that they can save on rent, utilities, and other expenses associated with a traditional office setup. Overall, outsourcing can help businesses cut costs and improve their bottom line.

Environmental Benefits: How Outsourcing Can Help Your Business Reduce Its Carbon Footprint

In addition to cost savings, outsourcing can also have a positive impact on the environment. One of the primary environmental benefits of outsourcing is the reduction in energy consumption. By hiring virtual assistants, businesses can reduce the amount of energy used in a physical office space. This includes energy used for lighting, heating, and cooling. The reduction in energy consumption leads to a decrease in greenhouse gas emissions, which contribute to climate change.

Outsourcing can also reduce the need for commuting. Commuting is a major source of greenhouse gas emissions, as cars and public transportation rely heavily on fossil fuels. When virtual assistants work remotely, they don’t need to commute to a physical office, which means less carbon emissions from transportation.

Promoting a Paperless Office: How Outsourcing Can Help Your Business Go Green

Another environmental benefit of outsourcing is promoting a paperless office. With virtual assistants, most communication is done through digital channels such as email, instant messaging, and video conferencing. This means less paper is used for printing and mailing documents. Additionally, virtual assistants can help businesses transition to digital workflows, reducing their reliance on paper and promoting a paperless office. This can have a significant impact on reducing paper waste and ultimately helping the environment.

Innovative Ideas for Sustainability: How Outsourcing Can Help Your Business Implement Sustainable Practices

Finally, outsourcing can help businesses implement sustainable practices across their operations. Virtual assistants often work with multiple clients, which means they have a broad understanding of best practices across different industries. They can bring this knowledge to their work with businesses and help them implement sustainable practices across their operations. This can include implementing recycling programs, reducing energy consumption, and using eco-friendly products.

The Benefits of Outsourcing for Your Business and the Environment

Overall, outsourcing can have numerous benefits for businesses, including cost savings and increased efficiency. However, it’s important to remember that outsourcing can also have a positive impact on the environment. By reducing energy consumption, commuting, and paper waste, businesses can reduce their carbon footprint and contribute to a more sustainable future. Additionally, virtual assistants can bring their knowledge and expertise to help businesses implement sustainable practices across their operations. By considering outsourcing as a strategy for both cost savings and environmental sustainability, businesses can create a win-win situation for their bottom line and the planet.

What benefits does the animal kingdom bring to the environment?

Scavengers: They keep the ecosystem clean of decomposing materials. They eliminate organic remains, avoiding the proliferation and overpopulation of microorganisms that are harmful to the environment.

Decomposers: The remains left by scavengers are later used by decomposers, which are responsible for transforming organic matter into inorganic matter. They absorb and take advantage of nutritive substances from the remains of animals and plants. They are like a kind of “recyclers” so as not to waste material that can still be used. For example, the earthworm decomposes matter that becomes part of fertile soils.

Pollinators: Responsible for the transfer of pollen from one flower to another, making possible the production of seeds and subsequent fruits. The crops of the entire planet depend on them, and with it, a good part of your diet. Bees are one of the most important pollinators.

How Going Digital Can Help Save Our Environment?

December 28, 2022 Lachlan Wymark 0

In recent years, the environment has suffered immensely due to the rise of emissions, pollution, and overconsumption. To combat this, many companies and individuals have begun to make the switch to digital products such as the ones found when you visit the windows website. This is in an effort to reduce their environmental footprint. Going digital not only helps reduce emissions and consumption, but also has a number of other benefits.

Digital products are often cheaper, more efficient, and simpler to use than their physical counterparts. Making the switch to digital products can help individuals and businesses to save money, be more productive, and contribute to the effort to save our environment.

What is Digitalization and Why is it Important?

Digitalization is the process of transferring data, ideas, or services from a physical medium to a digital one. A digitized product is a product that has been converted from a physical to a digital medium. Digital products are convenient, accessible, and cheaper to produce. They can be accessed from anywhere and can be modified with ease, helping them to evolve and grow with the needs of the users.

With the growth of technology, digitalization is becoming increasingly important due to the many benefits it provides. Digitalization has many positive impacts on our daily lives, including improving efficiency, increasing access to knowledge and information, and reducing costs.

The transition to digitalization could be the solution to many of the issues the environment is currently facing. The growth of digitalization could lead to significant reductions in resource use and pollution created by traditional methods of data storage, media, and communication. Going digital means going green!

How Digitalization can Help Save Our Environment?

The digitization of products can help save our environment in three main ways. Firstly, it reduces the need for raw materials, which spares land and water sources from unnecessary strain. Secondly, it reduces the need for transportation as data can be transferred online. Finally, it reduces the demand for energy, again through online data transfer.

Furthermore, digitization could also help fight climate change. For example, the energy used to power our electronic devices could come from renewable sources like solar or wind power. This would reduce the amount of carbon emissions in the atmosphere and help fight climate change.

Environment Tips for Fashionistas

November 11, 2022 Agueda J. Quarles 0

Regarding environmental challenges, fashionistas are progressively moving from fast fashion to sustainable fashion brands. Sustainable fashion is no longer just a statement of responsibility but also an expression of fashionable style just like buying some apparel from techwear official. Sustainable fashion was once associated with limited design, but those days are long gone. Today, big brands and prominent designers throughout the world naturally follow this trend. It does, however, take some effort to maintain these sustainable fashion pieces “sustainable,” and here are a few pointers to help you produce them faster and more efficiently.

Green living is exceedingly difficult to attain, but our efforts may still help lessen the environmental impact. We may start with fashion by adding sustainable living solutions to our wardrobe. Here are some suggestions for making your clothes more eco-friendly.

Organize your closet

Begin by organizing your closet and cleaning everything out. If your wardrobe is correctly organized so that you can see everything in it, you can easily “mix and match” when styling outfits. As a result, you will be less likely to purchase new products.

Repair first, then replace.

Don’t toss a favorite clothing because of small damage while rearranging your wardrobe. Small holes, tears, and missing buttons are easy to fix and can be done by oneself. You may also learn how to repair clothes and accessories by watching YouTube videos. With a little initiative and inspiration, you can change your shirt or accessory into a one-of-a-kind new piece.

Change your clothes.

You can swap clothes with your friends. This helps you clear out your closet and repurpose clothing you no longer use. Simultaneously, you and your pals will acquire new things without paying any money. Joining social media groups is another way to exchange clothing. We will all work together to limit the quantity of garbage in the environment if we take this strategy.

Clothing donations.

Donating old garments to charities or persons in need is another option. This can help others while also minimizing garbage discharged into the environment. All clothing, new or old, can be donated and raised for charity; however, make sure the things you plan to donate are clean and in good shape.

Choose clothing produced from environmentally friendly materials.

If you must purchase new clothing, consider eco-friendly fabrics. These fabrics are manufactured from natural, recyclable, and eco-friendly resources. Microfiber-containing garments should be avoided because they commonly pollute the oceans. Organic cotton with the GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) logo, wool, linen, lyocell, and other natural fibers are also available.

Purchase used and vintage clothing.

Purchasing old or antique clothing minimizes the number of new items you must purchase while reducing the negative environmental implications of apparel manufacture. Furthermore, vintage apparel can be an excellent addition to a fashionable ensemble. Spend some time browsing vintage stores; you can get one-of-a-kind products at cheap costs.

Buy less and get more.

Only buy products you actually enjoy and intend to wear regularly for an extended period. Investing in things made of high-quality materials is worthwhile because they will endure a long time. Quality things can be costly, but they are typically highly sturdy and will last many years. This is more financially profitable than purchasing inexpensive products that must be purchased multiple times. Classic clothing is ageless and cyclical; it will never go out of style and will always be valuable. The nice aspect is that you may combine them with your existing wardrobe to create various styles.

Take good care of your clothing.

Sustainable fashion is more than just how you buy garments; it is also about how you care for them. Proper care and maintenance will increase the durability of your garments, extending their life. One technique to protect garments from rotting is to wash them less frequently on an eco-friendly program. The dryer also shortens the life of garments. Natural air drying helps clothes retain their shape, smell better, and save electricity.

Choose a minimalist way of life.

A minimalist lifestyle is one in which extraneous objects are removed from one’s life, hence simplifying one’s existence. Minimalist fashion comprises having fewer things in your closet, owning exactly what you need, and wearing items that make you happy—purchasing just when necessary reduces manufacturing, disposal, and hence pollution.

Numerology and Its Benefits to Us and the Environment

October 16, 2022 Agueda J. Quarles 0

Studying esoteric arts and other spiritual areas will make you more aware of yourself and your surroundings. We are all connected, and how you live your life affects the people around you, your community, and the world. Numerology and other spiritual tools can help you become more aware of yourself and your surroundings. It may seem very overwhelming at first. Opening your eyes to see the state of the world around you is often frightening and scary. It is regrettable to know that even seemingly small actions in our lives can significantly impact the environment.

How can numerology help us in this quest for a clean and healthy environment?

If we do not, we may receive warnings of a physical, psychological, emotional, intuitive, or spiritual nature that indicate that we are on the wrong track. Problems and negative situations can arise. These situations include illness, serious health problems, depression, anger, accidents, and bad relationships. If you’re not on the right way, it may be time to assess where you are now and where you think you should be, one of the best experts that can assist you about  it is 1919 Angel Number. Feel free to contact them now!

Living to your ideals

Some people are ready to take immediate action because they are taking steps to live healthy life and maintain strong relationships. These people can choose to shape their lives to fit their ideals. This is what a simple life is all about. It’s not about frugality or frugality; it’s about living more consciously and consciously.

It’s about fully knowing why you’re living an extraordinary life. But again, it goes without saying that each of us is unique. We are all in different places in life. No one method works for everyone. Some of us must start acting on a smaller, more personal scale before we can conquer the world and address major environmental problems.

The Meaning of Green

Since we are talking about the environment and the green color, we can use numerology to understand what the color green means. According to numerology, green (7+9+5+5+5 = 31/4) vibrates with the energy of 4. Green is associated with the heart chakra (4th chakra). Green and the fourth chakra are associated with healing, balance, and calmness. Green chlorophyll is used to make blood, improve blood oxygenation quickly, help cleanse the body and balance the heart. The music that resonates with green is Debussy’s “Moonlight.” and Larkin’s Sea.

Cycles of Life

Another way numerology helps us in our daily lives is through the study of cycles. Cycles are “recurring forces” that can predict changes in your state of mind, health, mood, relationships, weather, politics, and the state of the world around you. We could gain a deeper understanding of our world. In Egypt, Babylon, India, and elsewhere, cycles were associated with weather, rituals, and agriculture.

One way to unlock the cycles of our lives is to study biorhythms. Biorhythms allow us to assess physical, emotional, and intellectual aspects of our lives. These aspects/cycles, like other aspects, vibrate at specific frequencies throughout our lifetime. 33-day cycles) all begin at birth.

How Ancient Incas Practiced Astronomy Prior to Pre Colonial Era

August 31, 2022 Xamira Zuiderwijk 0

Astronomy is inherent in South American countries like Bolivia as typical discussions about cultural astronomy are in relation to the Andean constellations. Although astronomy is not included as a subject in the country’s education system, the Bolivian San Agustin Remote Observatory provides instruments for constellation observations to amateur astronomy clubs and schools.

Supported by the San Agustín Educational Foundation (FESA) and funded by the country’s 2021 funding scheme for Europlanet Public Engagement. The initiative aims to encourage inclusive participation in high-quality educational activities as well as to develop sustainable innovations through collaboration and research. The observatory puts in place instrumentations in the city of Cochabamba that can create significant impact.

The project had put in place instrumentations for physical and management structures for the creation of an efficient observatory. The results made a significant impact in archaeoastronomy outreach activities in sout America.

What Can Be Gleaned from Archeoastronomy

The interest in archeoastronomy in South America, stems from the desire to investigate prehistoric astronomic knowledge that made the ancient Incas place great importance to the constellations. Their fascination for the star formations appearing in the Andean night sky came with reverence as the constellation were the objects of their worship.

The Desire to Investigate the Ancient Incas and Their Worship of Celestial Bodies

The Inca civilization fluorished in the Andes mountains between the 12th and 15th centuries. Although their religious beliefs were complicated, they recognize that there is a creator (Viracocha). They also believed in a Sun god and a Moon god. Aside from the constellations, they also worshipped trees, large boulders, streams and waterfalls, as it was their belief that the spirits that existed in natural objects provide protection and guidance to worshippers. Temples and pillars were built with precision to ensure that they can be witnesses to the rising and setting of the sun, moon and stars as they are crucial events.

To the Cusco Incans, astral positions were important for agriculture as farmers believed that some crops cultivated in radial plots existing under a sky that mimics a specific astromonic event, will results in bountiful harvests. Although astronomy today is no longer practised as a religion, the introduction and subsequent evolutions of astronomy instrumentations, enabled amateurs astronomers, teachers and researchers to access information and tangible contributions in the field of astronomy.

Today, believers in astrology benefit from computerized observations collected by observatories. Gathered in by way of narrow band filters, corrective optics, solar telescopes and innovative accessories that help in generating a great compilation of astronomical knowledge and data. Twelve thousand years ago ancient nomadic tribes presumably followed the paths toward the north node in leo. It appears that they had shed their hunter-gatherer way of life as they found it more beneficial to permanently engage in agriculture in South America

The Best Environment for Rabbits

July 14, 2022 Rive Clément 0

Whether they reside inside the house or outside, bunnies need a secure place and safety from dangers.

Where rabbits eat, sleep, exercise, and use the restroom

The environment of a rabbit includes all places that it has access to, not only the places where it sleeps, eats, exercises, and relieves itself. The environment also includes all the things a rabbit interacts with and the things it needs, including bedding, to keep healthy and content.

It should be taken into account to provide ample room, sufficient ventilation, safety from predators, and protection from high temperatures.

A rabbit should have access to places and resources that are appropriate for:

-rest comfortably and unwind
-when they are worried or uneasy, they can safely hide away and take cover from the weather, including the wind, cold, rain, and sun.
-engage with (and escape from) companions
-when necessary, it will chew and leave a scent trace on solid items.
-keep an eye out for danger or friends

A place for rabbits to relax

A rabbit needs a place to relax and a place to exercise. The place where your rabbit rests should contain two or more sections. two quiet, enclosed spaces: one for dining and relaxing and the other for sleeping. As moist, inadequately ventilated, overheated, or unclean settings can promote illness, all places should be well ventilated, dry, and draught-free. The optimum location for the resting space is to be permanently affixed to an open-access exercising space for the rabbit.

The place where people rest should be as big as feasible. At least:

-long enough for your rabbit to move around, feed, and drink comfortably

-large enough for your rabbit to lie down and stretch out comfortably in all directions

-high enough for your rabbit to stand up fully stretched on its back legs without reaching the top

If your rabbit lives outdoors Rabbits can be maintained outside all year long, but ideally their resting space should be moved into a shed or unused garage with natural light and air for the winter months, or else sheltered with a tarpaulin from inclement weather. Additionally, a jog should always be accessible.

Plumbing: Clean Ecologically

June 21, 2022 Wan Yü 0

A clogged drain or plumbing system can be really annoying. However, you can get it free in an environmentally friendly way without the use of harsh chemicals.

Pipe free

Most people know chemicals from the drugstore. However, the stuff is quite aggressive and can harm health and the environment. That doesn’t have to be the case if there is a completely harmless, simple alternative.

loodgieter

Recipe environmentally friendly and effective solution

Mix 40 ml (2 ⅔ tbsp.) vinegar essence or 1 ½ tsp citric acid with 200 ml water. Set the mixture aside.

Pour 1 litre of boiling water down the drain.

Pour 60g of baking soda down the drain.

Now quickly pour the vinegar/citric acid mixture down the drain, put on the stopper and wait 10 minutes. The mixture reacts by bubbling with the baking soda and that dissolves the impurities.

Pull the plug and add 1-2 litres of boiling water.

Clean manually

The blockage in the pipe can often be removed manually. This is especially helpful if the pipe is clogged with solid things that cannot be chemically dissolved.

Plunger/suction cup

A classic that helps above all is when there is a blockage in the pipe that can be “flushed away” with a little more pressure. Because with the plunger you move the water in the pipe “jerkily” back and forth. Constipation can be loosened and often completely resolved.

However, the plunger often does not help against long hair that has become tangled directly under the visible part of the drain.

Prevention is better than hindsight: How to prevent a clogged drain or plumbing system

A simple hair sieve helps you with this. You have a hair strainer in front of every drain. Otherwise far too much would disappear in the pipe, especially in the kitchen.

Every few months you have to dump 1-2 litres of boiling water down the drain. The boiling water loosens much of the biofilm that forms inside the pipes.

If you live in an area with hard water, it is best to mix either 40ml of vinegar essence or 1½ tsp of citric acid with water once a year and pour the mixture down the drain. After an hour, rinse with a litre of boiling water. This removes limescale.

On the other hand, if these remedies can’t help and the problem is serious, Plumbing companies can definitely help.

Why Used Cars Are Better Than New Cars In Terms Of Sustainability

February 24, 2022 Agueda J. Quarles 0

Dodge

It definitely makes more sense from a green perspective to stay your old car running and well-maintained as long as you can‚ especially if it’s getting such good mileage. Although they are prone to breaking down on the road and being towed by roadside assistance, there are significant environmental costs to both manufacturing a brand new automobile and adding your old car to the ever-growing collective dumpsite.

A 2004 analysis by Toyota found that the maximum amount as 28 percent of the carbonic acid gas emissions generated during the lifecycle of a typical gasoline-powered car, while the remaining emissions occur during driving once its new owner takes possession, can occur during its manufacture and its transportation to the dealer.

Regardless of which conclusion is closer to the reality, your current car has already passed its manufacture and transport stage, so going forward the relevant comparison has only to try to to with its remaining footprint against that of a brand new car’s manufacture/transport and driver’s footprint‚ to not mention the environmental impact of either eliminating your old car or selling it to a brand new owner who will still drive it. There are environmental impacts, too, whether or not your old car is junked, dismantled, and sold for parts.

ALSO READ: Tips on How You Can Protect the Environment and Reduce Your Carbon Footprint

And don’t forget that the new hybrids even have a way larger environmental impact in their manufacture, compared to non-hybrids‚ despite lower emissions and better gas mileage. The batteries that store energy for the drive train are not any friend to the environment‚ and having two engines under one hood increases manufacturing emissions. And all-electric vehicles are only emission-free if the outlet providing the juice is connected to a renewable energy source, not a coal-burning power station, as is more likely.

If you would like to assess your current car’s fuel efficiency or emissions, there are many services available online. The govt website FuelEconomy.gov provides fuel efficiency stats for many different vehicles dating back to 1985. Websites TrackYourGasMileage.com and MPGTune.com can facilitate your track your mileage and supply ongoing tips to enhance fuel efficiency for your specific make and model vehicle. MyMileMarker.com takes it a step further, making projections about annual mileage, fuel costs and fuel efficiency supported your driving habits. You’ll keep track of your car‚Äôs carbon footprint with the new “Greenmeter App” from Hunter Research and Technologies if you have got an iPhone. The program uses numerous variables to create its calculations on the go as you drive, including climatic conditions, cost of fuel, vehicle weight, and more.

If you just must change your vehicle, be it for fuel efficiency or the other reason, one option is to easily buy a second-hand car that gets better fuel consumption rate than your existing one. There’s much to be said, from many environmental vantage points, about postponing replacement purchases of anything, not just cars, to stay what’s already made out of the waste stream and to delay the extra environmental costs of creating something new.

Gaming For a Better World

February 13, 2022 Wan Yü 0

gamer-environment

Few people can imagine the concrete consequences of climate change. Games can be used to show people such a world, let them experience it, make them aware of the consequences of their actions, and take a deeper look at how video games impact the environment.

Power of Game

Thousands of children practice learning content in groups 7 and 8 using mini-games. This form of environmental education can be described as a form of secret learning.

Kids will learn how to prepare for the Cito test in a playful way while at the same time becoming a warrior for a better environment through various missions.

Games to change

Digital games are used not only for entertainment but also for raising awareness of social issues, also with the use of the internet, different source, websites, and online platforms. Think about issues such as war, violence, poverty, and hunger. For example, a breathtaking journey (2016) is a virtual reality experience where you can experience hiding in a truck as a refugee.

This game explores whether this can inspire players to empathize with those who flee war and violence in the hope of a better future. Ecological games belong to this category of so-called Games for Change (Burak & Parker 2017). Not only do they contribute to ecological thinking, but they also seek to encourage people to become ecological citizens.

According to Sherilyn MacGregor (2014), the term refers not only to the right to live in a clean environment but also to the obligation not to pollute the environment and to participate in its preservation and restoration.

Climate change is constructed as far away in time and space and is presented in a doomsday scenario with no practical solution

The special feature of the eco-game is that it responds to criticisms from researchers such as Per Espen Stoknes that traditional climate communication often leads to the “psychological climate paradox” (2015).

Many people do not believe in these facts or act in contradiction with them. Energy problems are seen not only as climate problems but also as geopolitical problems in which our energy self-sufficiency is at stake. And by emphasizing that the energy transition can also lead to economic growth.

Interaction

More and more people are spending more and more free time playing digital games. The game influences players through moral and political values expressed in rule-driven interactions. Players often have to work together to reach their goals, so they feel a great social connection.

With the power of this play, McGonigal designs an alternate reality game, rather than a game in which the player escapes from reality. For example, in the field of climate change, it is a game that improves people’s real lives and solves real problems.

In-Person

196 national delegations all want to negotiate on the information of a given country, and at the end of the evening, how much they want to contribute to global CO2 reduction in 2010 and 2050, and how much money. Had to express their willingness to pay.

They wanted to pay for the Green Climate Fund to deal with the effects of climate change. These negotiations were interrupted by a session with climate experts, and participants were briefed on their experiences with the effects of climate change, such as rising temperatures.

Tips on How You Can Protect the Environment and Reduce Your Carbon Footprint

January 21, 2022 Lachlan Wymark 0

It is your responsibility to protect the environment. As a matter of fact, even businesses like Ford and the Ford trucks for sale they run ensure that the manufacturing doesn’t harm the environment in anyway. You can do this by recycling and reducing your carbon footprint. Today, we are all in a climate change crisis. We need to take action now because the planet will not be able to handle more pollution and destruction.

What is a Carbon Footprint?

A carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gases created by an individual or business during a specific time period. It’s calculated by measuring how many kilograms of carbon dioxide (CO2) are emitted per unit of production, consumption, and trade.

The carbon footprint of a product is equal to the CO2 emissions caused by making that product; it’s not just the energy used in its manufacturing process. The carbon footprint of your lifestyle is equal to the CO2 emissions caused by your daily activities—things like commuting to work, buying groceries, eating out, etc.

The carbon footprint of air travel equals the amount of CO2 emitted from burning fuel for airplanes; it does not include other sources like airport construction and landing fees. If you want to reduce your overall carbon footprint, start with reducing your personal one and then move on to household products you buy regularly.

Reduce Your Carbon Footprint

The first and most obvious step for reducing your carbon footprint is to purchase sustainable products. By purchasing products that are made from recycled materials or are more environmentally friendly, you’re reducing the amount of waste your household produces.

You can also try to make changes with your lifestyle. This means using public transportation, carpooling with friends or coworkers, and only flying when necessary. However, if these changes are too difficult for you right now and don’t seem like they’ll work in the long run, know that some people have achieved them by doing trial and effort.

As a last resort, you might want to consider volunteering for environmental organizations that allow you to help save our planet.

Guitar And The Environment

January 21, 2022 Wan Yü 0

Sustainability, climate, and environmental protection have become the dominant current topic. People are considering how flights can be avoided. Plastic bags are being banned. CO2 is becoming more expensive and young people are taking to the streets for more climate justice.

And the guitarists? Are there things the string artist interested in sustainability should think about?

Plucking sustainably: Sustainability is not a consumption idea

Even if products are presented in this text that takes the aspect of sustainability into account, one thing is clear. Environmental protection cannot be “consumed”. The most sustainable and resource-saving thing is not to buy anything. Instead, you use your more or less old stuff.

Green pluck: Eco strings

Guitar strings are consumables. Strings corrode through the moisture of the fingers or lose their consistency through mechanical influences. Some string care with special oil or cleaning with a soft cloth will help extend the life of the string. Coated steel strings last longer than uncoated versions.

Guitar environmental protection idea

String care and string selection can increase the lifespan of guitar strings. There are strings made of sustainable material.

Sustainable guitar woods

The sound of a guitar is not determined by the strings or the pickups, but in particular by the tonewood of the body and the wood for the fretboard.

Today, the carbon fiber guitars are becoming more popular because of their sustainability and durability. Some types of wood such as tropical wood are much endangered, but which other types of wood can guitar makers fall back on if you want to consider the ecological footprint?

https://thecooktrio.com/carbon-fiber-guitar/

Some sustainable guitar woods alternatives

Linden

The Line is a perfect alternative to ash or alder. The tonal character is very balanced and is characterized by powerful bass and soft and pleasant highs. Since the linden tree, unfortunately, has no grain and does not have a rich color, this wood makes the guitar body a bit bland, so the linden tree looks rather unaesthetic as a guitar wood and is, therefore, less popular.

The tonewood has excellent dynamics and definition, which gives the sound a modern swing.

Ekoa

Ekoa is made from flax waste and is an extremely interesting and sustainable wood alternative. Particularly, ekoa is durable because it is significantly stiffer than fibreglass, is stable to moisture and handles temperature changes well.

E-commerce in Bolivia has been picking up, after entrepreneurs and companies in the country were constrained to do business online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Orders for products are placed online, whilst using home delivery services and electronic payment methods in serving Bolivian online shoppers. The government and banking sectors have also made their services digitally available to make processing of transactions simple and guaranteed.

Internet penetration in Bolivia has expanded, which stood at 65% in January 2020. During the same period, the number of Internet users increased by 500,000, which brought the total number of users to about 7.5 million.

Slow Growth of E-Commerce in Bolivia

Currently however, e-commerce education in the country is inadequate, making it difficult for ordinary Bolivian retailers to reach consumers in their target market. Although they are promoting their products and services at popular social media sites like Facebook and Instagram, not many are aware that there are other approaches and digital channels that can help improve their Internet presence. Apparently, only a few are seeking help from a digital marketing company that knows the local market and the current consumer trends in Bolivia.

While digitalization is an important business strategy, companies and retailers alike should know the importance of making their target audience aware of their online presence, not only through digital advertisements.

Consumers ordinarily use organic search when looking for products or services to purchase or acquire online, Bolivian e-commerce participants therefore should also know that there are applicable search engine optimization (SEO) strategies that help make their business more visible to their target consumers.

What is Organic Search?

In layman’s terms, organic search simply means to seek information about something by using the search query page of a browser, of which Google is the most popular. The results of an organic search are ranked by Google’s search engine based on relevance of the information to the search term used as query.
The results may include articles, YouTube videos, images and maps but exclude those appearing as advertisements.

To be able to generate results in a matter of seconds, Google’s search engine bots constantly crawl and index the massive amount of information available in the world wide web. Those that meet the criteria for relevance and quality are the likeliest to appear as search engine page results in response to a particular query.

What Do Bolivian Consumers Usually Buy Online?

Bolivian e-commerce market reports indicate that the top categories of products and services purchased or acquired by online consumers in Bolivia are the following:

  • Electronic devices
  • Streaming services
  • Payment processing services
  • Mobile apps
  • Video Game
  • Music
  • Movies

In knowing these, Bolivian retailers and providers of services not included in these categories will have awareness that most Bolivian consumers are not fully aware that there are local retailers offering consumer products and services online,.To become more competitive therefore, they should seek help from digital marketing experts, particularly those who are knowledgeable in SEO strategies.
